I wanted to share Mable and Ada’s beach session on this gloomy rainy monday morning. The last bits of summer are slipping away and fall is in the air. Leaves are starting to fall and pumpkin everything has hit the shelves at stores. But lets go back to just a few weeks ago when I got to run around West Beach in Port Jefferson with these girls! I have been documenting these girls for almost two years now. I met Nicole while she was pregnant with Ada and did Ada’s Fresh 48 session. We’ve done so many sessions since then i’ve lost count! Nicole wanted to capture the girls at the beach playing and having fun, the weather was warm and perfect during our session and the golden light was amazing.
I love watching families grow and change over the years and I can’t wait to capture many more years with these sweet girls.

I’ve gotten to know Alice and her family pretty well now since our move back to Long Island two years ago. She’s not only a long time friend to my husband but she’s become a really great friend to me too! And she’s crazy creative and artsy too… like the knitting she does is 10,000% – check out her insta here!
I have done countless session with her from her maternity to her home birth to newborn images of Ellie. I was really excited when she wanted to gift her in-laws-to-be a extended family session for the holidays. We waited until we had one of those sneaky spring days back in May when it was warm and the sun was shinning so golden. We choose to have the session at Harborfront Park in Port Jefferson. The tide was low and the wind wasn’t so bad – I absolutely adore how this session went!
Once the big kids ( not shown here for privacy reasons) started laughing at my corny jokes we were getting some genuine playful smiles! After the whole family was done Alice, Adam and Ellie wanted to venture onto the dock for some more and I of course happily obliged – I mean, who wouldn’t.
I can’t wait for August to get here and watch Alice and Adam get hitched – it’s going to be absolutely gorgeous.
If you love what you’ve seen and want to book your own extend family session I’d love to send you more info about it – head over to my investment page to send me an email!

Last month I got to meet baby R and his sweet family during their Fresh 48 session. Usually these sessions take place within the first 48 hours – hence the name fresh 48, but I met this little guy about half way through day 3. He had to spend just a little time in the NICU upon arrival so our session got pushed back just a day later than usual. None the less he was absolutely adorable and the sweetest little guy his mom and dad could have wished for. He also LOVED his paci which I find pretty normal for NICU babies; my oldest was obsessed with hers! Take a peek below to see how cute mister R is.

Springtime is here and I’m so excited! I’m ready for the warm weather and to be outside enjoying the sunshine. All last week everyone in the house was sick, except for me, of course! So once everyone was feeling better on Monday we decided to venture outside and do an impromptu little photo session once the sun peaked out and the grass was still tall. I put Emily in these pretty pink velvet overalls that I had since the fall that I had planned on using for her birthday photos that we never got around to. For Edward we dressed him up in a charming blue button-down and jeans; he decided to add his cool plaid hat. It’s been a staple for his look for the past few months I think it’s pretty darling. Easton wasn’t feeling great so we only snuck him in for a few shots. I’m so glad we were able to capture some cute springtime photos even though not everyone was feeling great.
These two fight like cats and dogs but are also the sweetest with one another – I can’t wait to see how Easton mixes in.

It’s always so nice to be a part of someones family journey and capture the special moments. With Jessica I was able to capture both her maternity session and then Pierson’s Fresh 48 session. His fresh 48 was extra special because his big brother Anderson was there to meet him too! Anderson took surprisingly well to meeting Pierson and even better to me being there with my camera. He was such a sweetheart with Pierson, talking with him, holding him and giving him lots of kisses.
It was so nice for Jessica and her family to have me there capturing such a special moment for them so soon after birth. Pierson was just a mere 12 hours old when I arrived. Jessica and I were able to chat about our birth stories and how similar they were – subsequent babies really do come fast!

This was an extra special session for me, because it was for a good friend I’ve grown to know since meeting my husband. Taylor and her family were my husband’s childhood home neighbors and still are so we see them often when visiting my in-laws. We found out we were pregnant just a few months apart and we shared pregnancy woes and insomnia. It’s always great to be able to gift your friends your favorite sessions, and this was perfect for Taylor. It’s always special to be a part of such a special moment with families, but it’s even more when it’s for friends and family. Mackayla was such a doll and had the fullest head of dark hair. I can’t wait to spend summer days at the beach and watching her grow up.
When she arrived it I made it a family affaire and had my boys join me when going to meet her and do her fresh 48 session. Edward was really excited to meet another baby and kept showing Easton the baby that was just like him! Also thankfully Taylor’s parents were there to keep him occupied while I worked, he loves playing with them. Easton on the other hand slept the whole time and was a complete champ again during a session!
Here is me holding both Mackayla and Easton – I love my job!! And thank goodness for this Ergo carrier that’s gotten me though 3 babies and working!

Just a little behind here on getting Josie’s session up on the blog. We shot her session just a week before my own little guy decided to surprise us with an early arrival. Thankfully the weather has warmed up since her snowy session. Josie was joined by her husband and sweet little boy during her session too. He was pretty shy and really wanted nothing to do with being in front of the camera, but I was able to snap a few with all of them together and some on his own. We chatted about how he loved PJ Mask and who his favorite character was. Then Josie and I went and did some images of just her! She was absolutely gorgeous in the sheer Sew Trendy Dress we got just for her session. With the golden sun behind her and the royal blue dress she just shined the whole time.

It was such a pleasure to get to meet Lorelei last month, she was absolutely adorable! I met Katelynn at a special brunch held last year by East End Playdates for moms and moms-to-be. Katelynn entered the raffle to win her very own Fresh 48 session from me and was so excited when she won!
I’ve become quite the regular over at Stony Brook Hospital doing fresh 48’s and I have so many more set to happen in the next few months. They are truly my favorite sessions. When I arrived to meet Lorelei I had my very own assistant, Easton, with me since he was only about 4 weeks old. He was perfect and didn’t make a peep the whole time. He has accompanied me on every shoot since.
Lorelei has the sweetest features and the best head of hair so far in 2018. Mom and dad were totally amazing too, we chatted about so many things during the session. She had the sweetest disposition but really wanted to suck on something the whole time and you will see that in a few of her images below. It was so cute. I even shot some video as a new addition to add onto your fresh 48 packages.

Again this October over the Columbus day weekend I had the pleasure of getting to go back to California from Long Island and see all of my favorite west coast families! This year a majority of the sessions I did were shot at China Camp Village in San Rafael. I can’t believe I had never shot there before! It was gorgeous and truly picturesque at all hours of the day.
It was so much fun to catch another year with all of these great families and meet a few new families too! I’m already thinking about and planning for 2018 – where I’ll have a new little assistant with me helping out, or just looking super cute. Any suggestions CA families on where we should shoot?! I’m thinking Stafford Lake in Novato, A Nicasio location or Cavallo Point in Sausalito – comment below and let me know what you think!
NOW here are my 2017 California favorites from the sessions that took place this year.

I had so much fun with August and his parents last month. They were visiting family here on Long Island and while in town wanted to do a session! I may have called him the wrong name most of the time but we really had a good time and got a lot of great smiles from him.
