Well… hey! I took a bit of a blogging break I guess. Summer ended like crazy, then back to school, then the holidays etc etc and well I just didn’t make time to show off all my sessions. I’ve been plenty busy if you keep up with me on social media. Today I’m starting back with my sweet little niece Noelle’s Fresh 48 session… who is now 7 months.
Holy smokes is she like the prettiest baby ever!? Like where did all of that dark brown hair come from and the cheeks, and tiny toes. Gah! Seriously she’s so cute and not much has changed really, she’s only become even more adorable. Her big brother Sully was NOT interested, at all. He tried to leave when we brought him in and refused to really get near her for a while. He loves her very much now so it’s all good. I absolutely adored getting to capture her first day earth side.

There is always a first for everything and this was a first for me just a couple of months ago. Yes I know I’m behind on blogging this … summer with 3 kids is CRAZY!! Anyways, I was so thrilled to get to add twins to my fresh 48 portfolio and they were cute to boot. It was a full room when I arrived to meet the Antionu family and their sweet new baby girls. There were two babies, two parents, two big brothers, two grandmas, one grandpa and one aunt… and me! Boy was it busy busy but we made it work and I had the big brothers help me at times too. Watching their fascination with their little sisters was fantastic. A baby for each of them, no fighting on who got to hold the baby. Which is something I deal with daily in my house since Easton came home. They were sweet, kind and pretty silly too, just like most big brothers are. They were constantly looking and touching and making sure the girls were doing ok and observing their little features. Mom and dad have such a full house and over flowing hearts now.

I have had this vision for sometime now. I wanted to do it with myself while I was still pregnant with Easton, but he decided to show up early so I wasn’t able to do it. So when I found out Stephanie was also going team green I thought it would be really cool to shoot her second pregnancy and use the smoke bombs for her. Since my in laws garden was in full bloom for summer I thought it would be beautiful to shoot the session there. Seeing how it turned out to be a secret garden magical shoot. I’m so ecstatic with the end result. The light was perfectly golden and the smoke really came out how I envisioned.
After we were done playing in the garden we decided to change dresses and head down to Harborfront Park in Port Jefferson and do a few shots there too and cool off in the water since it was about 100 degrees that day.

Last month I got to meet baby R and his sweet family during their Fresh 48 session. Usually these sessions take place within the first 48 hours – hence the name fresh 48, but I met this little guy about half way through day 3. He had to spend just a little time in the NICU upon arrival so our session got pushed back just a day later than usual. None the less he was absolutely adorable and the sweetest little guy his mom and dad could have wished for. He also LOVED his paci which I find pretty normal for NICU babies; my oldest was obsessed with hers! Take a peek below to see how cute mister R is.

It’s always so nice to be a part of someones family journey and capture the special moments. With Jessica I was able to capture both her maternity session and then Pierson’s Fresh 48 session. His fresh 48 was extra special because his big brother Anderson was there to meet him too! Anderson took surprisingly well to meeting Pierson and even better to me being there with my camera. He was such a sweetheart with Pierson, talking with him, holding him and giving him lots of kisses.
It was so nice for Jessica and her family to have me there capturing such a special moment for them so soon after birth. Pierson was just a mere 12 hours old when I arrived. Jessica and I were able to chat about our birth stories and how similar they were – subsequent babies really do come fast!
