When planning Candice’s maternity session I just knew shooting her in this dress by the beachside would be perfect, and it was! This dress perfectly showcased her growing bump and all her beautiful tattoos. It also was the perfect color on her with the glowing golden light we had that evening. Her and her guy were so happy and excited for their first little baby boy together and it truly showed in their images of them. Their sweet little Spencer will also get to share a birthday with my Emily which is a fun tidbit we chatted about during the session.

All sessions are special to me but some are just extra special, this one is one of those sessions. Why? Well because this one was for my sister in law who is expecting her second little baby in just a few short weeks. A little girl! We are all so excited to welcome another precious baby into the family and have more cousins for my crazy kids. Emily is especially excited because as of now she’s the only girl.
We decided to use her property again like we had with her first, though raining we really got some beautiful shots. She really makes being pregnant look like a breeze most of the time. I wanted to really make this new dress pop so I decided to really just play with the greens of the garden.
I really cannot wait to meet this sweet girl soon, stay tuned for her Fresh 48!

The Traveling Dress Collaboration is a brilliant creative project brought together by several photographers within the Motherhood Society (Beauty & Lifestyle Mommy Magazine’s endorsed professional motherhood photography communication). As elite creatives, each photographer was impressed with one another’s different photography and editing style and they decided to celebrate different women, all from different ethnicity, different stages in their pregnancies and in different settings, using the exact same dress to make their unique visions come to life. Each photographer had one single week with the dress, a custom design from Sew Trendy Accessories; styling the dress with their own creative vision and shooting it with their own style, before mailing it off to the next person. To avoid creatively influencing the vision of one another, the participating photographers agreed to refrain from sharing the images until each of them had the opportunity to shoot with the dress and submit their images for publish in the magazine. The dress traveled around the United States between eight participants, each very different in shooting style and artistic voice, we are so excited to share this collaboration with you!
I had the pleasure of working with Dana who was about 22 weeks during the time of our shoot last August. I wanted to do something fun and different that I had before. Dana is an art teacher here on Long Island, so I wanted to incorporate that in some way. I originally wanted to shoot at the MET in NYC but they don’t allow editorial shoots. So I went in a different direction and played off the teacher part and what is so commonly associated with teachers? Apples! I reached out to my favorite orchard on the East End and set up shooting before harvesting began. Harbes Orchard was in its prime and the trees were full of apples that hadn’t been touched yet! Dana was stunning in the dress and the light was so dreamy. After we did some in the traveling dress I had her switch up her dress and do some in another dress I had.
Check out Dana below as well as my favorite from each of the other photographers who participated in The Traveling Dress project.
Dress : Sew Trendy Accessories
Makeup : Heather Ann Makeup

And here are my favorites from the other ladies who participated in this beautiful project! Be sure to check out their blog post too with more from each of their sessions linked below each image.

Just a little behind here on getting Josie’s session up on the blog. We shot her session just a week before my own little guy decided to surprise us with an early arrival. Thankfully the weather has warmed up since her snowy session. Josie was joined by her husband and sweet little boy during her session too. He was pretty shy and really wanted nothing to do with being in front of the camera, but I was able to snap a few with all of them together and some on his own. We chatted about how he loved PJ Mask and who his favorite character was. Then Josie and I went and did some images of just her! She was absolutely gorgeous in the sheer Sew Trendy Dress we got just for her session. With the golden sun behind her and the royal blue dress she just shined the whole time.

Last week I hit 33 weeks in pregnancy and boy am I getting big! With all the cold weather and wind we couldn’t make the previous week work for portraits with the kids. So when we finally had a a good slightly warmer sunny day we made a family maternity session with the kids happen. Of course we ventured over to my favorite field of golden grass to capture the shots. The white dress really popped against the golden tones. This week I had help from the whole crew to get some really great shots, mostly my husband, but the kids each had a turn taking some too. They really enjoy getting to take shots with the “big camera”.
Emily is beyond excited to welcome a new baby and thanks me almost every day that I’m pregnant. Edward on the other hand doesn’t fully grasp the idea that there will be a new baby joining us, only that he wants it to be a little brother when we ask if he thinks it’s a boy or girl. He though has been very very sunggly and attached to me like no other, which is very similar to how Emily was when Edward was set to arrive. We are “Team Green” this time so the guesses are coming in from every one that ask – what’s your guess?!

I’ve been doing self portraits every other week to document this final pregnancy and last weeks was so magical and came out exactly how I wanted and above my expectations of doing self portraits! Here is 24 weeks, a little over half way done and growing by the second it seams. I feel like I was showing a little extra since these were done the day after Thanksgiving where I think I devoured about 34 meals over a one and a half day period.
I want to take someone here to shoot soon, before they mow it down! SO lets set up a session for you, your family or your sweet little one – you won’t be disappointed.

It may have been early August and hot as ever but this session was just ready to say “Hello Fall!”. It was my first time coming to the Nature Preserve in Blue Point on the south shore of Long Island but it didn’t disappoint in any way!!! I had hoped to have gone closer to the spring to check it out when it was FULL of wildflowers but I just didn’t make it, next year. Thanks to a wonderful friend for the suggestion to check it out – I am still trying to find spots that I love and this if defiantly one of them.
I often gravitate towards settings with wide open fields and neutral colors so that each client can have the chance to wear great colors. This spot was perfect – I can’t wait to use the space again for more sessions, especially since it is constantly changing with the seasons.
This momma was one of my contest winners and decided to do a maternity session with me. She was just so beautiful and had such style and loved that we were able to get a few different looks with just one outfit. She rocked her session and shined just as bright as the evening sunset. I can’t wait to meet her new baby boy in just a few short weeks for his newborn session.
