I was so joyed to get to capture Sarah and her wonderful family last month. When siblings are a part of these fresh 48 sessions it’s always a good fun time. Big brother couldn’t contain his excitement most of the session. He just kept coming up and gazing at her, probably wondering when she was going to get up and play with him.
I don’t think I’ve met a bald baby in the past year yet – everyone just has all the luscious locks!
Check out Sarah’s adorable fresh 48 session below.

I got to meet sweet Victoria last week at less than 24 hours old for her fresh 48 session. I was really excited to shoot this session because it was at a new hospital that I had not been to before. Saint Charles is absolutely beautiful and the closest hospital to me than any of the other ones I’ve shot before less then two miles from my house. When I arrived she was sleeping peacefully in her daddy’s arms and everyone was glowing with joy having finally got to meet her. She was absolutely adorable And had so much hair that was so luscious and had the most adorable cowlick to boot. This sweet girl barely made a peep the whole time I was there. I absolutely adored getting to meet her and her wonderful family everyone is over the moon about her arrival.
Enjoy my favorite shots from her session!

Spring was in full swing when we shot sweet Angelica’s in home newborn session. Mom really wanted to incorporate spring blooms and have it be very girly so I went all pink for her session. The tulips were pristine that morning when I picked them up so I knew I wanted to do some solo shots with them too. They did not disappoint!
When I arrived little A was just calmly cooing and enjoying her surroundings while I set up the floral shot. She defiantly gave me a run for the money on getting sleepy shots, but with a little mommas milk and rocking she was out. Her sweet pet siblings were watching and nuzzling her the whole time too but didn’t let me really capture them in shots.
Enjoy some of her beautiful spring filled session below

There is always a first for everything and this was a first for me just a couple of months ago. Yes I know I’m behind on blogging this … summer with 3 kids is CRAZY!! Anyways, I was so thrilled to get to add twins to my fresh 48 portfolio and they were cute to boot. It was a full room when I arrived to meet the Antionu family and their sweet new baby girls. There were two babies, two parents, two big brothers, two grandmas, one grandpa and one aunt… and me! Boy was it busy busy but we made it work and I had the big brothers help me at times too. Watching their fascination with their little sisters was fantastic. A baby for each of them, no fighting on who got to hold the baby. Which is something I deal with daily in my house since Easton came home. They were sweet, kind and pretty silly too, just like most big brothers are. They were constantly looking and touching and making sure the girls were doing ok and observing their little features. Mom and dad have such a full house and over flowing hearts now.

Last month I got to meet baby R and his sweet family during their Fresh 48 session. Usually these sessions take place within the first 48 hours – hence the name fresh 48, but I met this little guy about half way through day 3. He had to spend just a little time in the NICU upon arrival so our session got pushed back just a day later than usual. None the less he was absolutely adorable and the sweetest little guy his mom and dad could have wished for. He also LOVED his paci which I find pretty normal for NICU babies; my oldest was obsessed with hers! Take a peek below to see how cute mister R is.

It’s always so nice to be a part of someones family journey and capture the special moments. With Jessica I was able to capture both her maternity session and then Pierson’s Fresh 48 session. His fresh 48 was extra special because his big brother Anderson was there to meet him too! Anderson took surprisingly well to meeting Pierson and even better to me being there with my camera. He was such a sweetheart with Pierson, talking with him, holding him and giving him lots of kisses.
It was so nice for Jessica and her family to have me there capturing such a special moment for them so soon after birth. Pierson was just a mere 12 hours old when I arrived. Jessica and I were able to chat about our birth stories and how similar they were – subsequent babies really do come fast!

This was an extra special session for me, because it was for a good friend I’ve grown to know since meeting my husband. Taylor and her family were my husband’s childhood home neighbors and still are so we see them often when visiting my in-laws. We found out we were pregnant just a few months apart and we shared pregnancy woes and insomnia. It’s always great to be able to gift your friends your favorite sessions, and this was perfect for Taylor. It’s always special to be a part of such a special moment with families, but it’s even more when it’s for friends and family. Mackayla was such a doll and had the fullest head of dark hair. I can’t wait to spend summer days at the beach and watching her grow up.
When she arrived it I made it a family affaire and had my boys join me when going to meet her and do her fresh 48 session. Edward was really excited to meet another baby and kept showing Easton the baby that was just like him! Also thankfully Taylor’s parents were there to keep him occupied while I worked, he loves playing with them. Easton on the other hand slept the whole time and was a complete champ again during a session!
Here is me holding both Mackayla and Easton – I love my job!! And thank goodness for this Ergo carrier that’s gotten me though 3 babies and working!

Wow it has taken me a while to get to writing this post. Easton is 5 weeks old and already so different than the Fresh 48 photos I did below. He’s a pretty mellow baby, doing all the normal baby things – eat, sleep, poop and look cute.
Here is his birth story.
I had woken up at 1:30 in the morning feeling something, not quite sure if it was the real deal or just Braxton Hicks again. They were real and I had a hard time getting sleep so I got up and tried walking around the house quietly while everyone else slept. I really just thought it was false labor since I was only 38 weeks and both babies before were late at 40 and 41 weeks. I was able to do that for about 2 hrs until Brendan woke up and asked if I was ok, and I shrugged it of like it was no big deal and said “yeah uh-huh, I’m fine. Go back to sleep!” Then I had a contraction and he asked if it was go time. I calmly said maybe but that he should try to get some rest if it was. That was not happening, he was WIDE awake now. So I labored a little more and took a shower to see if I could get them to slow down or go away and they just became more intense. So we called in the calvary to watch the big kids and called the midwife to see if we should head in.
Around 6 am we headed to the hospital and of course they started to become much more spread out and short once we arrived and got into triage. So they sent us out to walk for a few hours, eat and see if they picked up again. We went to Avalon to walk the stairs and get some fresh air and walk the labyrinth. At this point I knew they had slowed and nearly stopped and was trying to not become discouraged and think about Emily’s 4 day laboring event. We returned to the hospital just to get checked again and no progression had been made so we went home. I had lunch and tried to nap for a bit despite both kids being home.
Around 4 or so contractions began to pick up again and were much more intense. I made the usually monday evening dinner of waffles and eggs and sent emily off to ballet and told her goodbye hoping that maybe we’d be leaving again before she got home. She was disappointed (again) when we were home still with no new baby! At this point contractions had become more WAY more intense and a little more constant so grandma and grandpa headed over for the night and we left for the hospital (again) around 8:30pm. I joked on the way that if we were going to have another Monday baby we only had til midnight to make that happen.
From here they story picks up – quickly! He made his way into the world quite swiftly once he decided he really wanted to come.
Once we get parked and into triage its about 9pm. Contractions are strong but not all that consistent but strong enough I think we should be at the hospital. I get hooked up to the monitors and they watch the heartbeat and my contractions. The midwife comes in and checks me and I’ve progressed from 3 cm to 4 over the course of the day… and they think we should go walk around the hospital and eat something. I break out into tears because I fear that this is going to last much longer like it had with Emily and I’d be going home yet again. So the midwife works on discharging us. All the mean while I’m tired and upset just wanting to sleep since I had been up since 1:30. As the midwife walks back in my water breaks – it’s about 10:30 at this point. She says “Ok well, lets get you admitted and into a room!” Yes! Finally!
About 5 min later contractions start coming very consistently and picking up. I get up to go pee and on the way back I can barely walk. A this point contractions are about 1-2 min apart and soooo painful. I can’t talk and am screaming through the pain. I had never felt contractions like this with my previous two because I had an epidural by the time they were this strong.
By now Brendan is freaking out – he’s never seen me in such pain. He calls in the nurse and midwife. With each contraction I can’t help but bear down and push. Note I’m still in triage waiting to get taken to our room and it been about 20 minuets since my waters broke. They see that I need to get into a delivery room ASAP and rush me into a wheelchair. I can’t talk and contractions are back to back. The nurse is literally running me to my room with the midwife next to me trying to keep me calm.
We get into a room and Brendan helps me on the bed and the midwife wants to check me to see where I’m at, because obviously somethings happening. She lifts my legs and says “Well, there’s the head! Push!” A push and a half later she says “It’s a boy!!!” All the pain is gone and our little guy arrived at 11:01pm. Shear bliss and shock all in one moment. I finally and unexpectedly got the epidural free birth that I wanted to have. But this time it wasn’t by choice…. I didn’t even have the chance to sign my admitting paperwork.
Overall it was a grand finale to our last birth and baby. And as a mom I’ll always remind him of how dramatic he was.
Here are the Fresh 48 shots I did at about 15 hours old. We hired a photographer friend come and take shots of all of us together and the kids meeting Easton for the first time. I can’t wait to see how they look.

I met Nicole at my event back in August at our local baby boutique, Cribs n’ Bibs, and we hit it off right away. She brought in her beautiful daughter Mable and told me she was expecting in October. She love the idea of a fresh 48 session since they were still doing renovations on their house and it would be a mess for a at home session.
We were set and ready for her section date in October and she was not finding out boy or girl until the birth! Which is pretty exciting for everyone. I was away in Nashville doing a newborn session for a childhood friend and only expecting to hear from another mom due the previous week. When I returned home and was able to get to my email I saw that she had emailed me – she had gone into labor on her own and IT WAS A GIRL. I was able to shift some things around on the calendar and get to the hospital the next day. There I met baby Ada – alert and absolutely as cute as a button. Aside from my two very wild children I had never had such an alert baby – let alone one that was 3 weeks early and only 29 hours old! After a little time with just Ada big sister Mable and Dad arrived. I just adore how this session turned out.

A lot has happened – of course – since I last posted. We moved to NEW YORK being one big thing. Its been a wild ride and we are still getting settled but I finally have had some sessions and it feels good to be back!
I did Christian’s session back in June and really had a blast. He was such a calm little guy and kinda went with it. He was a little older than what you typically see with newborn photos at 10 weeks old but was a champ. No sleeping for him – I was just too interesting. But I did catch a few blinks that gave the illusion that he was indeed sleeping.
